Consider helping Haiti

In the wake of the devastating quake that ravaged Haiti yesterday, we would like to encourage you to make a donation to one of the many relief organizations that serve the area. As far as we know, due to logistical constraints and damage to the infrastructure, monetary gifts are most desperately needed at the moment.

The New York Times ran a list of organizations to consider on its Lede blog. Our friend and member, as well as an advocate extraordinaire, Peter Goldberg suggested donating to Oxfam, with prior Haiti experience, or World Vision. The Employee Development Department of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee suggested contributing to Ventures in People, Inc (http://www.viphaiti.org/), a local humanitarian group that has sent medical teams to Haiti on a regular basis. Currently, there is a team of Wisconsinites over there as well.

Please, think about this.
